From what I read on their site, it works by blocking all outgoing ports
and prompting when an application tries to open a port outbound.  It's
basically a GUI for the native ipfw in OS X.  If you've allowed tor
outbound, then all traffic you send through Tor is allowed.

: By a "global proxy" setting do you mean you have used the Proxy setting in /System Preferences/Network/  ?
