I had a problem with this too sometime last year when we tested JanusVM.
I tried to edit privoxy rules, but nothing seemed to fix it.
There was something in the URL that was messing it up, but I never figured out what.
However, there is a part of the URL that works by itself.

Example:

The logout URL is:
http://us.ard.yahoo.com/SIG=12juheg3g/M=289534.10756690.11362500.5333790/D=mail/S=150500014:HEADR/Y=YAHOO/EXP=1181710959/A=4595965/R=10/SIG=140k91pnt/*http://login.yahoo.com/config/login?logout=1&.src=""

I don't know why they put all the extra crap in the beginning of the URL, but the part you want is:
http://login.yahoo.com/config/login?logout=1

If this is something you are going to be using often, then make a bookmark for "Yahoo Logout" with the above URL.
