The new version will still work with libevent-1.4.14b_2 installed, but the FreeBSD tor-devel port has been changed to link Tor against libevent-2.0.10 now that it has been released, and if you build Tor with both versions of libevent installed, Tor will be compiled with the include files from libevent 2 and linked to libevent 1, which won't work. To install the tor-devel port, * uninstall libevent-1.4.14b_2 temporarily (the portupgrade tools should include something that will create a 'backup' package of a port while uninstalling it), * install the tor-devel port, * then reinstall libevent-1.4.14b_2 (preferably from your package).
