Honestly? I don't know. I found this out a while back, and my first
thought was, "That's kind of stupid."
However, the first thought is rarely fully-informed. It probably ended
up on there because it's used for outgoing mail, period...
Personally, I think it should be considered for removal from the default
exit policy... but I'm just one person.
