Hi Giorgos!
Sometimes TOR is very slow for me too.
But as Dustin already mentioned; most of the time it is much faster than a dial-up connection.
And sometimes it can be, depending on the circuit, really fast. :)
Did you know that you are able to choose your prefered exit-node with the following command:
http://theurlyouwant.xyz.thenodeyouwant.exit
For example:
http://google.com.gammator.exit/
(You want to browse google.com, your prefer gammator as your exit-node)
Just pick some nodes from http://serifos.eecs.harvard.edu:8000/cgi-bin/exit.pl
and try if you're able to get some better results.
yours,
Patrick

Hello all...
From the beginning of running a tor server and up to now, I notice
that the speed of browsing the internet using tor is next to
unbearable. I would like to ask anyone of you out there who are
running a server with a privoxy proxy, if you can open your privoxy
for me (I'll provide you with my IP), for a couple of hours, in order
to test the possibility that my slow speed is due to *my* server, and
not tor in general.
thanks,
Giorgos
I frequently get unbearably slow circuits with Tor. With donated
bandwidth, it's the nature of the beast. With broadband, we get
spoiled. It's still faster than most dial-up.
