[Toredu-announce] February tor-edu update
Hello excellent university relay operators,
Cooper last sent an update in December:
https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2023/11/tor-university-challenge-first-semester-report-card
and here is a quick update about progress since then:
News #1: We've added five new institutions to the list:
* New York University (US), operated by the OSIRIS cybersecurity student
group.
* Radboud University (Netherlands), operated by Gunes Acar, who is known
in the Tor world already for his work on browser fingerprinting.
* Aarlborg University (Denmark), which runs exit relays hosted by DEIC,
the Danish NREN.
* University of Chicago (US), organized by Anna Lorimer.
* Brandenburg University of Technology, BTU Cottbus (Germany), operated
by Asya Mitseva, and connected to Andriy Panchenko.
I've added these five folks to this list -- welcome! -- and it brings
our total to 25 institutions.
News #2: in June at the TNC conference we are co-organizing a "Lessons
learned running Tor exit relays at an NREN" session along with Switch,
the Swiss National Research and Education Network (NREN):
https://tnc24.geant.org/sessions/#s558
You can read our one-pager on why running Tor relays is a natural fit
for the missions of NRENs:

Thanks for everything!
