Sound: LibGSI?

As Loic has pointed out to me,  W. Scholten <wouters@cistron.nl> has been 
working on a Gerneral Sound Interface that appears to be coming along.  
Has anyone taken any time to evaluate this?  From his web page it appears 
that it is coming along.

What are peoples thoughts on this?
