I built it and ran it and didn't get any problems.

I have a debian system with libc6.deb version 2.1.2-10

What's the best way to look up the version ? I ran ldd as well to make
sure - I'm not sure if its useful. I have to go now I've got touch
football tonight. I'm going on holidays for two weeks from this saturday
so if I don't respond to emails you'll know why.

ps.
The output of ldd pfile_pak was:
        libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x4001b000)
        libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x4002d000)
        libstdc++-libc6.1-2.so.3 => /usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.1-2.so.3
(0x40031000)
        libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x40076000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x40093000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x40000000)
