Hi,

Due to a wrong "Reply-To:" field a part of this thread didnŽt reach the
list, so IŽll provide a short summary:

Adrian proposed that we should use just "pp" as token prefix for all general
parts. The possibla namespace collision between the Layer O and P event
mechanisms could be resolved by calling the Layer O one "messaging system".

(Note: I simply use this convention for the first version)

As the messaging system heavily uses templates and gcc 2.7.x has quite some
problems with them, Adrian had some objections against using it. Here is the
last mail about this issue:

Hmm, I'd like to start using some nice C++ features.  Exceptions especially.
What does the rest of the group feel?
