[pygame] mini update

well, amazingly it's been several days and no real changes to
the pygame source. i've been using it quite a bit and found no
problems, and not too many bug report problems. (well, there's
still the surfarray module...)

anyways, i plan to put everything together for an 0.4 release
this weekend. i feel that everythings pretty settled at this
point. making it a good time to try to lock things down more
with another release.

in the meantime, i've still been pretty busy...

been working on my own game project finally. coming along
pretty well and i hope to have it in playable form pretty soon.

i've been working with alexander pipelka who's running the
"paragui" project. after a little discussion he's added a mini
framework that starts with an already running SDL mode, and
when finishing returns everything the way it found it. this
could make paragui very ideal for things like config screens
and load/save dialogs. for in-game controls and ui it might
not be the best solution. but for out-of-game UI screens it
looks very promising.

lastly, i've also been working with gordon mcmillan's
installation packages. trying to get a working standalone
game running for windows. the install stuff is going through
some 'growing pains' as it gets ready for 2.0. once it is
working though it should be painless to create standalone
executables for windows and unix.

oh, and i just remembered. after fooling around in #sdl yesterday,
i whipped up an 8-line bouncing ball demo. could be a bit shorter,
but that would be obfuscation :]
if you want to see it, grab these two files (and be amazed)

whew, just cause there's not much posting, doesn't mean things
are slow. back to work then
