The pictures on the Mac were very washed out looking. I knew there
were differences between platforms - I'll just tell Mac users to
adjust their gamma, because the pictures are going to be optimized
for the Windows platform.
I believe SDL has a gamma adjustment function. You could expose
that in your UI. Not sure where it lives in pygame, though.
In regards to this, the mac os uses a different gamma than windows.
It's quite painful to me as an artist when I work on the mac and my
images on windows look much darker than I had anticipated. I've
found myself employing the use of a second monitor so that I can see
my images on both LCD and CRT monitors as well as a backup windows
laptop so that I can see how the gamma effects things.
Additionally, if you are developing your images on the mac, it is
fairly easy to change the gamma of your screen to a "PC Compatible"
gamma.
