Dear Colleagues, 

 Ask a programmer about source control and s/he is liable to wax poetic about
its 
 benefits. Ask the rest of us and get a blank stare. Who cares? 

 Programmer Dale Gulledge, for one. The need for ways to organize collaborative 
 projects increases every day as it seems more and more of our work is done in 
 teams. Keeping straight who made what change and what the latest version is can 
 be ... well, difficult. Programmers have an answer. Dale suggests that the rest
