but of course, you won't find any serious work that shows that simply interacting with a particular technology has any impact on learning. its what you do with the technology.
Also, there is a compelling body of evidence on the importance of physical, bodily experience for learning - esp. in your age. So the sand pit is still important, but you can do good by supplementing that with a Wii.
