RE: [school-discuss] EducationGuardian.co.uk | E-learning | Are o ur schools missing a trick?

Currently the plan is to use SuSE 8.1 (or the Enterprise Server equivalent).
Both Michael Brown of Fen Systems (mentioned in the article) and SuSE UK
are involved in the project, which is being properly funded (i.e. money for
consultancy was written into the budget). Michael is likely to be particular
important, as part of what the school will be paying him is to finish his
work on the XDMCP statistical load balancing solution which is an easy,
scalable redundant solution that empowers the use of multiple low powered
thin client servers (sort of thin thin-client servers...).

As the project progresses, I will keep the group informed. Orders for the
hardware and consultancy time will be going out tomorrow.

Cheers

Chris

Hi Chris,

Are you adding LTSP to a stock distribution or using K12LTSP? Any info
on how either are being used over there would be appreciated.
