Have any of you looked at volunteering with rebuilding efforts after
disasters as a way of promoting FLOSS?
To take an example close to where I live: The city of Joplin, Missouri,
is still rebuilding from the May 2011 tornado that wiped out around a
third of the place, including much of the educational facilities. Large
parts of the public and private schools in the area still have a long
way to go before they're fully functional. A situation like this should
represent an opportunity to present more cost-effective alternatives
to the way things had been done in the past.
Time to do some thinking and looking around in your own area, perhaps....
Joel
