Contact the TTLO extension author and see if he'll do a TIWLO extension?

FireFox and Mozilla are dizzyingly configurable, so whomping up a chrome 
pack to do what you want should be relatively easy. For ~20k desktops, 
the effort involved in doing that even from scratch seems negligible 
compared to the savings in support.

On top of this, you'll make a hero of yourself for paving the way for 
other schools and lockdown environments. (-:
