Hi,

Do let us know in a summary statement as to what you deploy and why. 

Personally, I use TWIG, http://www.informationgateway.org/
but I don't think that this would be suited, out of the open source box, for 
a school setting. 

I've longed for a great calendar -- and most of it is in TWIG, I think. But, 
it should allow for calendar readers to visit the pages of the various groups 
and NOT need a username and password.
