[school-discuss] Accessibility Software

Title: RE: [school-discuss] Open Formats vs Industry Standard formats
Greetings,

Does anyone know of  an Open Source internet screen reader for the Blind/Visually Impaired.  The main commercial product being used is called JAWS.  It's $900 US, (not cheap for starters) and is causing problems for Institues who are looking for standardised solutions.  The whole accessibility issue is looming very large for educational organisations and many of the solutions being offerred are expensive propretary systems which means either some disabled groups miss out or institutes have to spend up big (either on software or law suits).

cheers,
