[school-discuss] Open Administration for Schools 2.25 released.

Hi All,

The latest version of Open Admin is now available for download at:

http://richtech.ca/openadmin

This version has lots of rewrites (100+) to extend multi-language support (i18n) to OA (and we're not done yet...)

There is also a teacher focus in this release which includes major updates to teacher attendance entry, gradebook, daybook, report card mark entry for single user logons. (as well as other features... outlined below).

The next release will continue the teacher focus and should complete the rewrites of all teacher site scripts, updated interface, and some new features.

Here are some of the updates:

1) All new HTML... tested in all browsers including IE7.

2) Complete discipline rewrite (thanks to Kevin Waddell who did most of the work). I've added a new search function to simplify the adding of discipline records. This now has i18n functionality (multi-language) in all scripts. (ie. %lex hash for phrase storage). The online translation system will build altered (translated) versions of these scripts once the translation system has these phrases in alternate language versions.

3) Report Card System - rewritten. Several scripts have been reduced to one. The report card script is rewritten (but there is certainly more to come with the report card...). The term edit script now supports multiTrack term editing when this feature enabled in the admin.conf.

4) Teacher Scripts - the login, teacher attendance, gradebook, and daybook have all been updated and/or rewritten to support session management for single logon. Once logged in, you can enter attendance, use the gradebook / daybook, without having to log in again. There have been lots of rewrites to improve security and prevent sql injection attacks (with more to come, of course).

5) Mark Entry - the mark entry scripts have been rewritten (for NWCSD) and they now include language support (i18n), multiTrack support (for K-12 schools), simplified CSS postioning (and now works in IE7 since it finally has absolute postioning (IE6 doesn't)), multi-term previous mark, comment views, popup current term eval results. It also has session support and single login functionality.

Overall there are 100+ changed / updated / rewritten scripts and several others rolled into a single script.
