[school-discuss] MP3 patents expiring

Not finding a lot of articles or details on it, but it seems that
patents related to MP3 are expiring and distributions that typically
don't support MP3 out of the box are starting to add in support:

https://linux.slashdot.org/story/17/05/06/0055200/fedora-will-get-full-mp3-support-as-iis-fraunhofer-terminates-mp3-licensing-program

If anyone comes across any other interesting articles on the topic or
has any examples of which Open Source programs may now have support
for MP3 in various Linux or BSD distributions that wouldn't use MP3
format, please share the information with the list.

Thanks.
