Dear Sir,

National Center for Software Technology (NCST) is organising 
Vidyakash
2002 -International  Conference on  Online Learning during  15-17 
Dec,
2002. Vidyakash-2002  is  being  conceived  of  as a  forum  to  
bring
together the various groups interested in online learning. A number 
of
institutions around the world and  also in India are active in 
various
aspects   of  online  learning,   spanning  development   of  
learning
management  systems,  content  development,  use  of  online  
learning
technologies  in   education  and  online   testing.  However,  
online
learning,  as  a  technology,  is  still  in its  infancy  as  far  
as
understanding of the various issues are concerned. It is important 
for
the different groups  to share experiences - successes  and failures 
-
and  exchange ideas  to take  this technology  forward. 
Vidyakash-2002
expects to provide precisely such a forum.

The conference will consist of the following:

=> Invited talks by eminent scholars from India and abroad
=> Presentation of contributed  papers selected based on refereeing 
by
   an International panel of referees
=> Exhibition by industry and academia
=> Panel Discussion
=> Tutorials:  The conference will  feature one full-day  tutorial 
and
   two half-day tutorials.


The tutorials will be held on 15 Dec. All other events will be held 
on
16th and 17th Dec., 2002.

Tutorial  I:   Sustainable  Learning  Ecosystem   in  Tertiary  
Online
Education (full day tutorial)
Speakers: Vive Kumar, Chris Groeneboer and Stephanie Chu (Simon 
Fraser
University)

Tutorial II:  Competencies for Online Teachers and  Trainers (half 
day
tutorial)
Speakers: Michael Spector and Radha Ganesan (Syracuse University)

Tutorial III: Online Learner Assessment (half day tutorial)
Speakers: Ranajit Mukherjee and Pooja S Mehta (NIIT)


Conference Highlights (16-17 Dec)

   Mudur (Concordia University,  Canada), Punya Mishra (Michigan State
   University) and D B Phatak (KReSIT, IIT, Mumbai)

   Courseware  Engineering, Instruction Delivery,  Instruction Design,
   Learning Environments, Learner Modeling, Learner Support, etc.

=> Panel discussions  on 'Role of LMS in  e-learning' and 
'E-learning:
   The way ahead'.

=> Content Design Workshop  - Institutions  active in  content design
   share their experiences and development methodologies.

=> Exhibitor's Presentations

Fees and Registration

Registration is open to anyone  interested in online learning. You 
may
register for only conference, only tutorial(s), or both.

Delegates from Non-profit Educational Organisations	Rs.1500/US$40

Other Delegates						Rs.2500/US$70

Tutorial Fees:

Delegates from non-profit / educational organisations:
       Half Day:	Rs. 800/US$20
       Full Day:	Rs.1200/US$30

Other delegates:
       Half Day:	Rs.1200/US$30
       Full Day:	Rs.2000/US$50

Mode of payment:
----------------

All payments  should be made  by a crossed  cheque or demand  draft 
in
favour of NCST, payable at Mumbai.  You may register by filling up

participant registration form available on the website.
