Hello,

you might be interested in coordinating your efforts with the
wxWindows developers and the FADE project.

wxWindows provides a free C++ GUI framework and FADE is an effort to
provide a complete desktop environment based on it. wxWindows (wxGTK)
will also be used for the Mnemonic Mediator and is currently being
used by myself to develop a full MIME enabled email application.

In case that you are interested, have a look at the Bookmarks section
