There has been some talk about creating a kind of simplified UI fir
children. There's also been talk about a menu-program wich gives
more and more access to a child depending on how well the educational
programs are used..
I think that one should make use of the multi-user base from unix
here, and create groups for different file-permissions. A user can
then be added, perhaps by a program checking results, to more and
more groups. The standard menu-system (at least the one debian uses,
that inserts itself in both KDE and GNOME automatically) will then
notice that the user now has permissions for another program, and put
that in the menu.
The simplified UI would be automatically created as the new user
hasn't got permissions to use that many applications.
