Re: [seul-edu] please offer you comments on this new SEUL.org logo

FWIW,

I think Felipe's logo is very strong. And I
don't think we should run to any overly hasty
decision about a new logo.

The first thing I think about, before running
to a new logo, or looking at new logo proposals,
is that "SEUL" does not lend itself to instant,
and intuitive knowledge that the four letters,
"S-E-U-L", stand for "Simple End User Linux."

Please don't misunderstand - I like the
acronym SEUL, and have learned what the
letters stand for, but it is not obvious at
first. It simply isn't obvious.

I suggest that we should make up for that
factor by embracing a logo that exudes clarity,
simplicity, and perhaps even structure.

The current logo is decent; I think we all
enjoy the rising sun symbol.

The logo that WorldForge designed is nice,
but I honestly think that it does not
really yell "simplicity for the end user!"

It is worth mentioning that it was really kind,
and neighboorly, that WorldForge thought of
giving us a graphical gift. Maybe we can
ask them for a set of 4 or 6 more logo's
to ponder?

I feel Felipe's logo, is solid, clean, and
clear-cut, is a great example of the
iconography we should represent SEUL
through, in the long run.

Great logo example:

Who made that SEUL-SCI logo? Pete?
