Suggestion to all about firewalling

I just downloaded today the ISO of the redescolar distribution, and noticed
that the firewalling rules were mere 3 or 5 lines. And maybe a lot of other
computers have the same setup, or less. And with the recent DDoS attacks,
people is starting to look for info on securing better their boxes. I suggest
going to http://www.ecst.csuchico.edu/~dranch/LINUX/index-linux.html, and
looking at the TrinityOS document. The guy has a pretty tight firewall script,
among a lot of other things (look at the "features" list in the page),
implemented with ipfwadm/ipchains, and full explanation of things, so if you
don`t trust his setup (i didn`t, at least the first time about a year ago, now
is a lot better), you could use it at least as a basis to another thing, as he
already covered the (more or less) boring parts (the standard rules, like
denying all and opening only the basic things).

This is a thing i can help you with (more or less :)
