Re: [seul-edu] OpenOffice 1.0.0 Launch - UK mirror site

Darren,
I've been trying to persuade the head of networking for New Orleans
public schools (several thousand PCs) to consider Linux, but he was
concerned about ease of use and interconnectivity. (He's also under
political pressure to maintain the status quo.) As to the ease of use, the
Linux version of OO installed without a hiccup and seems just about the same
as MS office from the user's point of view. I love it! Now I want to install
the Win version on some of the PCs at my school to show him the
cross-platform compatibility. Is there any special procedure, or if I
download and unzip the zip file will it explain the installation steps?
Thanks,
Dave Prentice
