A Python grant proposal

I saw this on slashdot.org and thought people might be interested, since
it relates to recent discussion of grant-funded work.  Guido van Rossum
(the main author of the Python language) has a proposal for a grant to
use Python as an introductory programming language, I think mostly to
develop the environment (not the language itself) in this direction. 
Sounds hopeful.
