MS is, well, MS. It is also popular cuz "everyone else has it" and Win95 is
*relatively* easy to use. The Mac is quite good w/ graphics, and the boxes
were placed into many schools at low cost.
My contention is that Linux is quite inexpensive (both the s/w and
*support*), and the h/w required can be very inexpensive too (and old,
"obsolete" 386s, 486s, and low MHz Pentiums can be used).
