Another posting of potential interest to list members, as it involves computing
policy decisions at a high level...
"CSTB is composed of nationally recognized experts from across the information
technology fields and complementary fields germane to the Board's interests in IT
and society. These leaders are selected on the basis of their individual
accomplishments; they are not appointed as representatives of organizations, but
they are associated with a wide range of academic, industrial, and other
affiliations." -- from the first link below
Interesting to see names like Time-Warner Cable, U.S. Venture Partners and Microsoft
on that list.

Does anyone on the EDU or SCI list know first-hand information about the
CSTB?
I'm thinking about how the CSTB relates to national policy making (or
national influence) for technology in education. If you can quickly surf
through the URLs above, I'd appreciate any on-list, or off-list thoughts,
and ideas.

established in 1986 to provide independent advice to the federal
