Comment:

 Well, how should the external app blocker kick in *without* a connection
 being established first and some indication about what kind of file it is
 that is being requested? That's important, because, as the name says this
 component is only responsible for blocking external apps from kicking in
 and handling file types the browser can't handle itself.
