Comment:

 Probable assigned to wrong person.

 It's a real mess. Too many components involved. There are so many tickets
 and conflicting solutions.

 There needs to be someone in charge, who will that be? Mike?

 Then the solutions have to be collected, discussed and then you'll need a
 roadmap. Otherwise the "We're working on a way to make this possible on
 all platforms. Please be patient." can be removed.

 In case it will be a shell script solution, two people offered help.
 (Aaron Paden and me) While it can be probable no exclusive shell script
 solution, some help from other components may still be required.
