 the reason is most probably the cookie behavior.

 when accessed from https, the cookies have the "Encrypted connections
 only" tag which is ok.

 but when accessed from the hidden service, since the connection is http
 and the cookies still have the same "Encrypted connections only" tag, it
 doesn't work.

 The website must send "Any connections" cookies when accessed from http
 (or hidden service)
