 I should mention that this happens if you choose the language before you
 log in as well.

 - Don't log in.
 - Choose a language that is not your default
 - Save settings and see that those are applied
 - Log in and also set the language you prefer, but is not you default
 - Log out after applying the setting and you end up with your default
 language
