 That bug report describes a similar problem (a program tries to replace a
 file and fails), and it may have the same cause, possibly a big in Windows
 Vista and Windows 7.

 The workaround for this bug is probably to change `replace_file` (in
 `src/common/compat.c`) to use `MoveFileEx` on Windows, but I'll need to
 check to make sure that function is available on older versions of
 Windows.
