Comment:

 Attached an additional patch for the subsequent unused variable errors.
 Letting the switch_id test return 77 does indeed skip the test. If we'd
 also use that for the Linux part the test_switch_id.sh script can be
 simplified. I'm going to open a separate ticket for this.
