If you set `UseMicrodescriptors 0` in `torrc`, a command `GETINFO
desc/id/FINGERPRINT` will expose Tor version as part of `platform` value.
So, you can learn Tor versions, but not with default `torrc` options.
Interestingly, if you put `UseMicrodescriptors 0` for some time, then
switch back to default (set it to 1), delete `/var/lib/cached-
descriptors.*`, and reload Tor's config, Tor will continue to provide
platform and version through `GETINFO desc/id/FINGERPRINT` until restart.
I think it is because of some caching in Tor's memory.
However, I agree, it seems that `ns/id/FINGERPRINT` never shows Tor
version.
