 Sometimes a www is added to an .onion address causing:

 "One of your applications tried to establish a connection through tor to
 "www.xy.onion", which Tor does not recognize as a valid hostname. Please
 check your application's configuration."

 Noticed it several times, browser bundle for linux, version 2.2.3.5-7.2

 how's that?
