What does attempting to prove "i'm-a-human" have to do with addressing
DDoS attacks?
Bots are legitimate consumers of data (as stated above).
Just because something is not human, does not mean you should treat it
specially. I thought you were trying to prevent DDoS attacks, not play the
Turing Test.
