set by Debian somewhere in `/etc/X11/Xsession.d/`.
This workaround seems no longer to be necessary for me on Debian testing,
using TBB 3.5 with ibus 1.5.4.
I had `GTK_IM_MODULE=xim` in my `start-tor-browser` for a long time,
because it allowed me to type in the browser, even though ibus input was
broken. Today I tried removing that variable assignment, and now
everything appears to work. I can type in the browser, then I can also
activate ibus and type that way, too, which I couldn't do before. See? âââ
