Not necessarily, although that would be one way to solve the problem. You
could as well easily stop functionality only if the extension got disabled
AND Thunderbird is shutdown afterwards (provided it got not enabled again
before the shutdown occurred). That might be smarter as Thunderbird claims
that it (only) will disable the extension after you restart it. At any
rate, what must not happen is that the state shown to the user does not
match the state the extension is in.
