 Yes, but implementing xz support without importing the libcommons-compress
 (and consequently libxz) may compile but means the compiled code doesn't
 work. So basically reading xz tarballs ''will'' fail spectacularly. ie.
 there's no way to implement this feature without that change.

 About the `DescriptorReader.setMaxDescriptorFilesInQueue` , I will create
 a separate ticket about this.
