Comment:

 Okay, since no patch seemed forthcoming :( I've tried to do one of my own.
 It's applied to master as 6632a731fd76ac5cc09571a9e4bcc10d1a809a01 .  If
 we decide to backport to 0.2.6, it would be my branch bug16162_026.  But
 I'm deciding "no backport" on this one, on the theory that it doesn't
 warrant a change in stable.
