 TOR wont start after the initial crash... just opens the shutdown/error
 popup screen from windows:

 torbrowser has stopped working
 check online for solution or close program

 it does this with all .onion/TOR sites on first run, after that it wont
 actually open the program at all.

 ok, after messing around finally figured out how to open TOR/Vidalia in
 safemode... more messing around i found the settings/controls backside
 area "config"...
 ok so far so good, i can now view hidden services, how the flying "F" did
 those two get changed?...
 is that somehow defaulted even tho it doesnt show them as defaults in the
 config page?...
 is this something that has been happening only with windows 7 pro?
