 Ok, qbi had to step out right after I sent him a snapshot with a goptlib
 workaround, but here's branches for the relevant codebases.

 The tor change is simple and low risk enough that I think it should be
 taken for 0.2.6.x.  The goptlib change should also be taken to work around
 older tor installations till the non-alpha 0.2.6.x bridges no longer
 appear in the wild, assuming qbi gets back to me with good news.
