 mails and don't have the overhead of maintaining a mailing list.

 It's way easier maintainable by having a mailing list, since users can
 sub/unsubscribe from the list no need for human intervention. Apart from
 this the public archive helps all people to follow up even the ones that
 are not subscribed on the list.
