 I guess an alpha with this bug would be acceptable.

 A release candidate with this bug would be bad news. :)

 If we do put out an alpha with this bug, we should be intending to put out
 another one pretty soon after with the fix, because we'll probably get a
 lot of bugs filed that we'll have to dup to this one.
