New description:

 OS = OS 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard) running tor as a relay

 Vidalia wanted the latest version of tor installed so I did so. It was

 Now though it will relay for a few minutes and com up with this in the
 message log:

 Dec 15 19:33:30.011 [Error] Bug: buffers.c:269: buf_shrink_freelists:
 Assertion (*chp)->next failed; aborting.

 It looks like other bugs in here may be related, but was not sure if this
 would be best as a comment to a
 random one or letting you decide where you wanted the info.
