New description:

 On my Firefox browser window, I had two buttons at the bottom of the
 browsed page for activating or deactivating Tor.
 They have now disappeared and I can not activate Tor, even though I have
 green onion.
 I downloaded the Tor Button for Firefox, but no change.
 Please help.  I have Firefox 3.5.4
