 i got same output on ubuntu 11.04

 [23:23] nickm> [...] please comment out the line in src/test/test_util.c
 that says " tt_int_op(pos, ==, strlen(expected_out));".  I think it's line
 1372.

 ok with libevent-2.0.11 and
 "./configure --with-libevent-dir=/usr/local/lib --disable-largefile
 --enable-dependency-tracking --enable-bufferevents --enable-gcc-warnings-
 advisory --enable-instrument-downloads"
 output is now:

 util/spawn_background_fail:
   FAIL test_util.c:1373: assert(stdout_buf == expected_out): <ERR: Failed
 to spawn background process - code > vs <ERR: Failed to spawn background
 process - code          9/2
 >
   [spawn_background_fail FAILED]
