Comment:

 After some debugging, Kathy and I found that this occurs because the code
 tries to iterate over the contents of a directory that does not exist. An
 existence check was added for Firefox 47. See:
 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1246614

 Should we backport the fix? It is trivial:
